Valve has released a small update for CS2, with which it has fixed bugs with the game's netcode and the interface that allows you to monitor your connection status.

In addition, the developers explained why users could complain about packet loss.

List of changes:

  • fixed a bug where the delay compensation system did not take into account the buffering setting to smooth out packet loss during firing;
  • improved frequency synchronisation to improve performance during connection destabilisation;
  • changed the method of measuring the impact of connection quality on gameplay - now the system tracks how often ticks are missed due to packet loss and unstable connection;
  • added a setting to display detailed metrics of connection quality, including the number of lost packets that do not affect gameplay.

The CS2 authors explained that previously the interface reporting connection status misinterpreted the system's handling of packets. In one case, players could see a notification about a high percentage of packet loss when in fact it did not affect gameplay, and, on the contrary, not be aware of connection problems, although they were.

Previously, Valve updated the Counter-Strike 2 account banner on the X social network twice. Fans speculated that this is a teaser of the release of the updated map Train.
