On the night of 29 October, Counter-Strike 2 developers released an update that improved the game's performance and also fixed some bugs.
List of updates and innovations:
- Improved the invariability of jump height to be within 0.015625 units, regardless of the distance to the map centre in coordinates (Previously in CS:GO and CS2, jump height could vary by 0.03125 units depending on the distance to the map centre).
- Improved stability of landing on surfaces close to the maximum jump height.
- Jump height still depends on stamina. When using the cl_showpos 2 command, stamina on takeoff is reported and displayed in a colour depending on the possible jump height.
- Fixed a bug where the cl_showpos display would sometimes show the wrong jump height when jumping from inclined surfaces.
- Fixed cases where the player would fall back down during a jump because the server did not confirm that the jump had taken place.
- Adjusted weapon pickup logic near C4, prioritising disarming over randomly picking up weapons.
- Enemies will now consistently play a flinch animation on hit when a bullet passes through two hitboxes with the same priority (e.g. right and left leg hits).
- Exploding fragmentation grenades in smoke now removes the effect of the accumulated smoke screen from players in that smoke within the grenade's blast radius.
- Various stability improvements.
- Fixed geometry bugs on Dust2.
On October 25, the developers released a patch, with which they fixed several bugs, as well as updated the localisation files. In some situations shrapnel made headshot sounds, and in some dynamic objects stuck grenades.
